What happens if you move during an MRI scan?
Small movements away from the area being scanned—like wiggling your toes during a head scan—usually aren’t a problem. However, it’s important to keep the area being scanned as still as possible so we can capture clear, accurate images.
If there’s too much movement, we can repeat the scan while you’re still with us. You’ll also have an emergency buzzer throughout, so you can alert our team at any time. We’ll check on you and do everything we can to keep you comfortable.
